Laryngeal manipulation after Jacob Lieberman

The treatment technique according to Jacob Lieberman is about tonus regulation in the laryngeal area, regaining muscular flexibility and thus breaking unfavourable patterns of movement and function in the area of the larynx, which have very often existed for years and which manifest themselves in paraesthesia, globus sensation and voice disorders.

Laryngeal manipulation can be used therapeutically for singers with voice disorders, jaw problems, breathing, swallowing and speech problems, but often as part of other therapeutic measures.

As a rule, laryngeal manipulation is preceded by a phoniatric examination, but some voice therapists and singers at the SingStimmZentrum Zürich are also familiar with the technique and can also use this form of therapy as part of an assessment or therapy.
